Committes & Task Force
Measure Up
Measure Up, the planning committee for SHIP, is charged to strategically monitor, support and evaluate community planning efforts and to facilitate SHIP internal strategic and long-range planning efforts.

Woodbury County Decat
The Decat Project was created as the result of Iowa legislation-92 Acts, Chapter 1229, Sec. 18 in 1987. The intention of Decat Project is to establish a system of delivering human services based upon client needs to replace a system based upon a multitude of categorical programs and funding sources, each with different service definitions and eligibility requirements.

Tobacco Coalition
Tobacco Free Siouxland is a collaborative effort between community agencies to offer comprehensive tobacco education/cessation services to Woodbury County residents.

Finance Committee
The Finance committee is responsible for monitoring the SHIP operating budget. The committee also makes recommendations regarding investment, audit bid selection and insurance selection.

Action/Social Health Committee
ACTION (Area Coordination Team in Our Neighborhood). ACTION Teams are community planning initiatives that closely align with middle school districts. ACTION has two goals: to work together within current systems to communicate/coordinate services for individuals, which are more creative, efficient and effective; Together we can empower residents to identify their needs and become active partners in addressing those needs, through the building of community partnerships.

Social Health Teams were created to carry out the mission and vision of ACTION into smaller geographic areas (individual school geographical lines) with the focus on individual’s needs and planning to meet those needs. There are currently 28 Social Health Teams in Sioux City and 3 rural in Woodbury County.

Women of Siouxland Empowered (WISE)
WISE was formed as a result of a recommendation from the 5-Year Comprehensive Plan for Woodbury County – 1999 that identified an increase in the number of females going into the Juvenile Justice System, as well as a lack of gender specific services. This committee works to adopt innovative approaches to improve gender equity within the community and the juvenile justice system.

Success by Six ® and Beyond
A collaborative effort between United Way of Siouxland's Success By 6 ® and SHIP's (Siouxland Human Investment Partnership) Early Childhood Committee. Guided by current research on brain development and supported through meaningful partnerships, the initiative provides opportunities to strengthen, support, and empower children and families of Siouxland through access to quality community services.
