Comprehensive Strategy

Comprehensive Strategy is an ongoing, data-driven, research-based, collaborativeprocess selected by leaders ofWoodbury County to:
- Promote positive development of youth and families and preventadolescent problem behaviors of substance abuse, delinquency, teen pregnancy, school dropout and violence.
- Establish priority needs; identify gaps in the current response to priorities; define clear, measurable outcomes that can be tracked over time to show progress; monitor implementation of programs, policies and practices; and evaluate progress toward desired outcomes.

Healthy Siouxland Initiative (HSI) is a collaborative community health planning effort comprised of local health care providers, educators, human service personnel, physicians, religious leaders, social agency staff, and law enforcement officials.

Woodbury DMC
|
The Woodbury Disproportionate Minority Contact Committee was formed in 2002 to address the overrepresentation of minority youth in the juvenile justice system in Woodbury County, Iowa.

YouthBuild
|
The Sioux City YouthBuild program is part of a nationwide program designed to help unemployed/underemployed young men and women between the ages of 16-24, work toward their GED or high school diploma while learning job skills by building affordable housing for low-income families. Strong emphasis is placed on leadership development, community service, and the creation of a positive micro-community of adults and youth committed to success.
