Childcare Programs
SHIP offers quality child care assistance to low-income Woodbury County families. To see if your family is eligible for assistance, please download one of the income guideline charts below. For infants and toddlers (child is under 24 months), please use the ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) chart. If your child is 2 or 3, please use the Federal Poverty Guidelines chart (only total household income between 146% – 185% qualifies).

If your family qualifies, call any of the quality providers listed below and ask if they have any SHIP scholarship slots available. Each provider will work with you to determine your eligibility and amount of assistance. Families must present evidence of income (2008 income tax statements or multiple pay stubs) to providers. All adults in household must be working full-time, going to school full-time (or a combination of both) or recently unemployed (within the last 60 days) and actively searching for work to qualify.
Please note that ARRA funds are available only to families receiving care from providers who have received a 3-star rating or above from the Iowa Quality Rating System.
